Recently we completed a challenging project in the Tver Region. Construction of 2 exploratory and production wells in the settlement of Krasnodarsky, Vyshny Volochyok District.
Water quality in the area is poor. Our team applied both expertise and ingenuity to the job.
Let's look at the specifics of the order using Well No. 1 as an example.
Client's objective:
Provide the site with a stable water source for process and drinking needs.
The site had a heterogeneous geological profile, requiring precise selection of the aquifer for operation.
On this site we faced a challenge — drilling through siliceous limestone. Its complexity lies in the combination of high abrasiveness, fracturing, and the need for precise engineering solutions.
What was done?
The works were carried out by our team with a full cycle of engineering-geological solutions:
- drilling a well 58 m deep;
- phased penetration of aquifers;
- selection of the optimal aquifer for operation;
- construction of a reliable casing string design.
Drilling was performed using the rotary-percussion (roller cone bit) method with a URB-2D3 rig mounted on a KamAZ chassis — the optimal solution for such geological conditions.
Site geology:
- upper layers: sands and loams;
- siliceous limestone
- main working aquifer: fractured limestone of the Carboniferous system (Vereya aquifer).
This was the aquifer selected for operation as the most stable and promising in terms of yield.
Result:
- well: depth 58 m, diameter at depth 0 to 6 m — 369 mm, 6 to 42.5 m — 269 mm, 43 to 58 m — 190 mm
- static water level: 11 m;
- operating yield: up to 25 m³/hour;
- reliable filterless design, with casing perforation in the zone of the water-bearing limestone;
- the well is fully ready for operation after pumping until the water runs clear.
In this project, it was important for us to ensure long-term yield stability and eliminate the risks of siltation and premature well failure. This result was achieved.
