Geological Surveys

Engineering and Geological Surveys

Professional engineering and geological surveys across the Central Federal District and throughout Russia.

A full scope of work for projects of any scale — from individual housing construction to large industrial sites and linear facilities.

The purpose of geological surveys is to obtain reliable data on the soils and hydrogeological conditions of the site, assess risks, and develop safe design solutions. Our investigations make it possible to determine the technical feasibility of construction, select the optimal foundation type, reduce costs, and avoid errors at the design stage.

Engineering and geological surveys are required for:

  • designing residential buildings, cottages, and high-rise structures;
  • construction of industrial facilities;
  • laying linear structures (roads, gas pipelines, power transmission lines, water conduits);
  • reconstruction of existing buildings;
  • assessing the condition of foundation soils;
  • preparing documents for expert review and construction permits.

Our advantages:

  • Highly qualified geological engineers with 10+ years of experience

  • Our own fleet of large-scale and compact drilling rigs, as well as crawler-mounted equipment (UBShM-1.20, URB-2A2, PBU-2.02, UGB-587).

  • Modern equipment and high-precision investigation methods.
    PIKA-19, TEST K2M — for cone penetration testing;
    ShV60 plate load unit — for plate load testing of soils in conditions of increased complexity.

  • Accredited soil laboratory

  • We provide professional consulting during the preparation of the contract and the terms of reference, drawing on our own expertise and more than 10 years of experience.

Scope of engineering and geological surveys

1. Preparatory stage

  • collection of archival and geological fund materials;

  • analysis of previously performed engineering surveys;

  • engineering-geological reconnaissance of the site.

2. Field work

  • drilling of engineering-geological boreholes using core, cable-tool, and auger drilling methods;

  • excavation of test pits and trenches;

  • cone penetration testing (PIKA-19, TEST K2M);

  • plate load testing of soils (ShV60);

  • pressuremeter testing;

  • hydrogeological observations (drilling of monitoring wells and preparation of related reports).

3. Laboratory testing

  • determination of the physical, mechanical, and physico-chemical properties of soils and the chemical composition of groundwater;

  • assessment of moisture content, density, collapsibility, strength and deformation characteristics, as well as the corrosivity of soils and water;

  • analysis of the behavior of the soil base under design loads;

  • preparation of input data for the well-founded selection and optimization of foundation parameters.

4. Office data processing

  • analysis of field, laboratory, and archival data;

  • preparation of the text and graphic parts of the report;

  • conclusion and issuance of the technical report to the client;

5. Additional services

  • inspection of foundation soils of existing buildings;

  • inspection of excavation pits during construction;

  • geophysical investigations

  • soil testing during project construction

Deliverables of engineering and geological surveys

  • Technical report in hard copy and electronic format

  • Field logs, photo and video reports upon request

  • A complete documentation package required for upload to the portals of various expert review bodies

  • The report is accepted by all design organizations and passes state expert review.

Cost of engineering and geological surveys

The price of the work is calculated individually and depends on:

  • the site area;

  • the number and depth of boreholes;

  • the complexity of the engineering-geological conditions;

  • the need for testing (penetration testing, plate load testing, pressuremeter testing);

  • the requirements of the design or expert review.

Our specialists will prepare an accurate cost estimate after reviewing the terms of reference.
