Inspection of Buildings and Structures

A technical inspection of buildings and structures addresses the following tasks:

  • Assessment of the technical condition of buildings and structures prior to reconstruction, purchase, sale, or lease;
  • Obtaining permits for construction and reconstruction;
  • Changing the functional purpose of a facility;
  • Determining the load-bearing capacity of structural elements with regard to additional loads;
  • Improving the operational safety of buildings and structures;
  • Extending the service life and load-bearing capacity of structures.

A set of activities for determining and assessing the actual values of monitored parameters that characterize the serviceability of a facility and determine whether it can continue to be operated or reconstructed, or whether restoration or repair is required.

It includes an examination of the foundation soils and building structures to identify changes in soil properties, deformation damage, and defects in load-bearing structures, and to determine their actual load-bearing capacity.

The inspection reveals the degree of physical wear of individual structures, assemblies, and the building as a whole, as well as the possible causes of disrupted normal operation or failure. Based on the results of the technical inspection, a technical report is prepared with recommendations for the further operation of the inspected building.
