We Completed Training at Glavgosexpertiza of Russia

Together with colleagues, we completed training at Glavgosexpertiza of Russia on engineering surveys and design for water supply and wastewater facilities.

At the seminar, we examined in detail the regulatory requirements, typical errors in design documentation and engineering survey results, as well as state expert review practice.

An interesting conclusion was voiced:

responsibility for the scope of engineering surveys lies with the customer.

Customers often try to reduce the scope of work in order to cut costs. And if insufficient source data leads to problems during design, expert review, or construction, responsibility for that decision is likely to fall on the customer.

Saving on surveys often results in additional costs: revisions to the design documentation, repeat investigations, schedule delays, and higher construction costs.

Our task as contractors is to help determine a sufficient scope of surveys for a specific facility and reduce risks at every stage of project implementation.
