Geodetic Surveying at Lipetsk Airport

The airport's operations are currently suspended for security reasons due to the current situation, which allowed us to carry out surveys across a substantial area — 44.37 hectares — within a tight timeframe. Field and office work took just over two and a half months.

As part of the engineering and geodetic survey project, our team addressed the following tasks:

  • Reconnaissance and survey of the territory, including inspection of the Basic Geodetic Network (OGS) and State Geodetic Network (GGS) points with Class II accuracy;
  • Performing topographic surveys and creating engineering-topographic plans at a scale of 1:500;
  • Updating data on underground and above-ground utilities and structures;
  • Developing a digital engineering terrain model (DETM) for the automated solution of engineering tasks.

At the final stage, we verified the completeness and accuracy of the plans together with OGKP Lipetsk Airport.

Major renovation of the facility is scheduled for 2025–2027, and we hope that once it is completed, our city will have a modern and comfortable airport ready to resume full operations.
