Friends, systematizing the process of preparing reporting documentation helps us in our day-to-day project work.
Today I'll share a checklist we use when conducting environmental surveys — it helps ensure no important details are missed, keeps us compliant with requirements, and at the same time isn't overloaded with unnecessary information.
Save it so you can quickly check the key points.
1️⃣ Collecting baseline data
- Receiving the terms of reference from the Client
- Requesting design documentation from the designers
- Gathering initial information about the site (location, characteristics)
2️⃣ Working with official sources
- Requesting information from municipal administrations
- Obtaining information from the territorial offices of Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage)
- Collecting certificates and opinions (10-15 different documents on average)
3️⃣ Field stage
- Site visit with sample collection:
- Radiological surveys
- Ambient air sampling
- Water and soil sampling
- Instrumental measurements
4️⃣ Laboratory testing
- Submitting samples to an accredited laboratory
- Conducting chemical and analytical testing
- Processing the data obtained
5️⃣ Preparing the reporting
- Drafting the technical report
- Preparing opinions and appendices
- Assembling the complete document package
Checklists help specialists verify key project milestones, while clients can immediately see how thoroughly a specialist approaches the work.
What tools do you use to organize your workflows?
I'd be happy to exchange experience in the comments!
